KIA RIO MANUAL SEDAN

Download Free Kia Rio manual sedan.pdf Kia’s all new JB series Rio replaces the previous model’s plump silhouette, with a leaner, fresher style. Under the bonnet a 1.6 litre engine, featuring variable valve timing, provides an extra 8kW, while a 90mm longer wheelbase adds interior space. Hatchback versions are shorter than the old series, but the sedan has grown 25mm in length. There are substantial improvements in build quality, and Kia’s “drive-away” pricing will provide extra appeal at this cost conscious end of the market.

Given the Rio’s modest exterior dimensions the boot is surprisingly large. A 60:40 split fold rear seat adds even more space, although there is a noticeable step between the boot floor and cabin with it lowered. Each door has its own storage pocket, and a removable ashtray between the front seats gives nonsmokers an extra cupholder. Convenient storage trays and glovebox accommodate any knick knacks. Smallish front buckets provide good comfort, but they don’t offer much lateral support. It’s worth investing in the optional height adjustable driver’s seat with armrest. Even with the longer wheelbase, rear legroom is at a premium, especially behind a taller driver, but overall the seats provide adequate comfort over shorter distances. The squared off roofline maximising headroom.

Simple and straightforward, the Rio’s nononsense dash layout is easy to navigate. The central dash is angled towards the driver placing the radio and ventilation switches at your fingertips. Four large vents provide more than enough fresh air, while the height adjustable steering wheel moves through a generous arc. By today’s criteria the Rio’s standard driver’s and passenger’s airbags and front seatbelt pre-tensioners are to be expected. A four star Euro NCAP score is impressive, but on closer inspection the overseas test vehicle included side and head airbags. These are not available on the local model. Four wheel disc ABS brakes are an $850 option.
